A Roadmap to Farm Funding
In this Thursday Session, the FarmRaise team will guide you through an engaging and interactive exploration of the farm funding landscape. We’ve mapped dozens of federal, state and private funding opportunities, and we’ll synthesize what we’ve learned for you during this presentation.
Any farmer who’s looking to get started on their farm journey, expand their farm business to additional acreage or new products, or invest in their operational profitability and soil health will find this session incredibly beneficial at setting the stage for your journey.
Presenters: Jayce Hafner and Sami Tellatin of FarmRaise
Jayce Hafner is the CEO and Co-Founder of FarmRaise. Jayce grew up on a 160-acre angus beef cattle farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where she spent early mornings helping her father tend to the cows. Jayce’s family received USDA funding to transition to improved grazing management, and she carries this story with her in her leadership at FarmRaise. Before FarmRaise, Jayce served as a Fulbright fellow abroad, worked in land protection and coalition building in DC, attended Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, and invested in farmland.
Sami Tellatin is the COO and Co-Founder of FarmRaise. Sami hails from southern Missouri and became deeply interested in agriculture in college while working on farms in Missouri and Costa Rica. Before FarmRaise, Sami worked at the USDA-SARE program and University of Missouri Extension, where she conducted research and education efforts about the impacts of cover crops across the United States. She also organized the 2018 Our Farms, Our Future conference, bringing 1,000 farmers and agricultural experts together. Sami met Jayce while in graduate school at Stanford, where she also had experience working at Truterra, an insights tool and subsidiary of Land O’Lakes.
