Chris SramekChris Sramek, Atwood, KS, is a meteorologist, farmer and business coach for aspiring rural entrepreneurs. Served as Rawlins County Economic Development Director from summer 2005 to early 2009, where countless programs and new initiatives were implemented to create a more entrepreneurial environment for HomeTown of Atwood, Kansas.  One of these accomplishments included, in partnership with several Kansas and Colorado colleagues, formed the High Plains Food Coop to sell locally grown food via the Internet to consumers in the Denver Metro area. The past 5 years have been spent growing the food co-op to 50 member farms selling over 700 food items, raising free range poultry on the Sramek Family Farm and developing projects expanding the regional local food system.
